VISIT DENVER: Summer Tourism

With its proximity to the mountains, Denver has no problem attracting visitors on their way to the slopes in the winter. But during the summer, it’s a different story. So every every year, VISIT DENVER creates a campaign highlighting that summer’s attractions. And for several years, I had the priveledge of helping shape those campaigns. As an organization with over 300 partners and member businesses, I was working with a client who had a whole lot of their own clients to keep happy. Which meant that my team and I were faced with the challenge of highlighting as many Denver attractions as possible—and doing it in the classiest way we could manage.

2012 BRAND TV

Since Visit Denver's annual budget almost never allows for broadcast production, when they found a chunk of change that would allow us to shoot, we knew we needed to give them something with a long shelf life. Eight days of shooting, 28 locations and 13 roller coaster rides later, we ended up with a spot that showcases an impressive number of the things Denver has to see and do.

2011 SUMMER OF ADVENTURE

With The Real Pirates exhibition at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, 2011 was deemed Denver’s Summer of Adventure. Which is exactly why these radio spots have “adventure” written all over them.

2010 BLOCKBUSTER SUMMER

In 2010, the premier proponent of guyliner—King Tut—was coming to Denver (or his liver was, anyway). So 2010 was named Denver’s Blockbuster Summer. To highlight as many of Denver’s “blockbuster” events as possible, we created an interactive shadowbox banner that gave potential visitors a little preview of what the city had in store.
